Right now I love layer cakes and exploring different kinds of frostings like Swiss Meringue Buttercream, Italian Meringue Buttercream, different fillings, and decorations. I have had phases of baking pies, going deep on cookies and even got hooked on sourdough making during the pandemic. (My starter is still going strong.) I love the learning part of baking, so I move around a lot through the different disciplines.
How long have you been baking?15 years with an eye on improving my knowledge and skill. I’ve always baked holiday cookies and the occasional cake.
What would you do with the $20,000?I want to have a cottage bakery as I get closer to retirement. Bake for farmers markets and custom cake orders. I would use the money to establish my business.
