My favorite thing to bake is a gluten and dairy free banana bread or pumpkin bread because I love shocking my friends and family with how moist and delicious it is. Really anything gluten or dairy free so that the people I love (including myself) don’t have to suffer to enjoy the good things in life.
How long have you been baking?Since I was a young kid, I used to be poor and would ask my papa Iannielli if we could go to the store and get ingredients when we were at his house. I would watch YouTube videos and pretend like I was Martha Stewart in the kitchen talking to all my fans (me and all the dust in the room) while making cookies, cakes, etc. And then two years ago, I pursued my dream of being a private chef using my lifelong home cook experiences.
What would you do with the $20,000?With $20,000 I would put it toward opening up an authentic Italian cafe and bakery in Bellevue, WA. I was raised with the Italian spirit of family and on a recent trip to Salerno where my family was from I became overwhelmed with how much Italian culture is commodified and rarely does a cafe or restaurant get it right. I want to bring that spirit of familia and GOOD food, real food, made by real people back into this neighborhood. I want to bring a taste of home to peoples bellies and taste buds
