How long have you been baking?I’ve been in the industry for 44 years, but my love for baking began much earlier, helping my grandmother roll out dough for Italian cookies as a young boy. At 15, I started working at a bakery, doing everything from washing dishes to dipping cookies and preparing pie shells. Before long, I found myself working with pastries and cakes. My passion for cake design truly ignited when I attended the Institute of Culinary Arts in New York, setting the course for my career.
What would you do with the $20,000?I would donate half of my proceeds to three charities that are very close to my heart: Tunnels to Towers, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Icing Smiles. The remaining half would be set aside for my retirement, allowing me to spend more quality time with my family.
