My favorite things to bake are cakes and cookies. I love sculpting and decorating cakes because it challenges my creativity and keeps me on my toes. Baking cookies is also one of my favorites because creating unique flavors gets my customers excited. Recently, a favorite flavor that went pretty viral was the Dubai chocolate bar, but in a cookie form. In just a month I was able to make about 2,800 cookies with my tiny little mixer so I was really proud of that.
How long have you been baking?I've been baking since 2011. It came to me randomly when I got hired at my local coffee shop/bakery called Sugarnomics as a barista. One day, maybe a month into working there, I was asked to help make some decorations for custom cupcakes. Mind you, I've never even baked, let alone decorate before. So I was scared to even try, but once I started making royal icing decorations, it came naturally to me and I was then promoted from barista to baker/decorator in a matter of weeks.
What would you do with the $20,000?If I had the chance to win $20,000, I would save half to one day open my dream bakery. But mainly, I would like to use the other half to help start up my daughter's small business. I call her by her nickname Didi aka Deeds. She wants to start a clothing business called Good Deeds and sell tshirts, hats, tote bags, etc. with her logos (which are super cute food and desserts with smiley faces) on the items to sell and then partial profit of the sales would go to a different charity each month.
