Cake is my favorite thing! I enjoy the science of baking and the art of cake decorating. Beyond that, I love that we get to participate in people's happiest moments. The fact that we have a no nuts in the shop and a separate GF kitchen room means that we're able to provide treats to just about anyone! That means that even walk-in customers who are stopping by can find themselves with a cause to celebrate. Everyone deserves to feel special and loved, and cake is such a simple way to do it!

I've been baking for 12 years, starting all the way back in high school. I'm completely self-taught, so each of my recipes is the result of countless iterations, experiments, and failures. Nothing compares to the feeling of having someone say that our cakes are the best they've ever had! Those words affirm that the long nights sitting in a messy dorm/home kitchens meant something. Now the shop is here and we're able to do so much more for the community because of it!

$20,000 would be invaluable to myself and my team. Carefree Cakery has had a physical location for about a year now, but we didn't anticipate how quickly we would need to expand in order to meet customer demand. We also work extensively with the colleges in the area, so we often get bulk orders that we struggle to bake and store. Another employee and another freezer would be a huge step towards sustaining our growth and ensuring that we can keep helping our community.
