Learn MoreAnything I’ve never made before is fun for me. I love the challenge of figuring it out (given I typically get requests that are missing key ingredients due to allergies) Honestly seeing the smile on someone’s face after eating one of my safe treats is my favorite thing. That said, my go-to thing to bake are my vegan chocolate chip cookies. Unless I tell you, you would never know they are vegan.
How long have you been baking?I’ve been baking for about 13 years. I started baking for my son’s 4th birthday party. It was at that party his friends mom (friend also had food allergies) came up to me to tell me how amazing it was that her son could eat the same cake as everyone else. It was then, I decided I wanted to bake allergy friendly sweets.
What would you do with the $20,000?About 5 years ago, I put my recipes in a cookbook that I self published so anyone could successfully bake allergy free treats. It’s a truly unique cookbook in that every recipe offers substitute ingredients, so that every recipe is customizable for any food allergy combination. I would use the prize money to promote the cookbook so more people can know about it and bake allergy free too!
