I have been baking for about five years. It all started when I became a single mom and I needed to find a way to bring in extra income. I quickly discovered my talent in decorating and started baking all night, into the morning and then having to leave for my full time job right after. Pastry school is where I learned how to take my bakes to the next level and it eventually pushed me to start teaching to my clients.What is your best baking secret?
Oh boy, where do I even start....when it comes to baking: use a kitchen scale and check the temperature of your oven. Baking is chemistry, if one element is off, your bakes can go completely wrong. Just because your oven says the temperature is at 350, doesn’t mean it actually is. Using a kitchen scale assures that you are not using too much of an ingredient or two less and it’s way faster than using measuring cups! My none baking secret to share is, don’t give up and practice.
